About Becky Woodell

I have been teaching in Idalou for 23 years. During my first 2 years, I taught reading to 5th/6th grade.  Then, I switched to science. From 2002-2015, I taught various science classes in grades 5th, 6th, and 7th.  Throughout those years, I also taught a variety of other classes such as Career Ed, social studies, and 7th grade reading. In 2011, I began my transition to being the dyslexia therapist/Certified Academic Language Therapist.  I was trained through the Scottish Rite Learning Center of West Texas.  I graduated from the Take Flight Therapists program in 2013. I passed the Alliance Exam in 2016 which gave me the title of CALT (Certified Academic Language Therapist).

My room is located in the MS building, but my students range from 1st grade to HS.  I really enjoy having the opportunity to interact with such a range of students on a daily basis.

I live in Lubbock with the love of my life and father of my children, Bobby.  I have 2 boys, Nick and Jacob.  They both attended Idalou ISD from kinder through graduation  Nick graduated in 2021 ad Jacob in 2023. My family and I participate in a plethora of non-traditional sports such as archery, rock climbing, motorcycles, wakeboarding, and surfing.
