Educational History:

I am a 1980 graduate of Roosevelt High School.

I graduated from South Plains College in May, 2006.

I graduated from Texas Tech University in May, 2011.

Current Position:

In 2001, I began working at Idalou High School as a Special Needs Aide, where I worked until 2006. In 2006, I moved to the middle school, where I continued as a Special Education paraprofessional/inclusion teacher until 2013.

After graduating from Texas Tech University in 2011, I served as a long-term substitute from November 2011 to May 2012, at Idalou Middle School teaching 5th Grade Social Studies and ELA, and 6th Grade College and Careers.

In 2018, I returned to Idalou Middle School as a Special Education paraprofessional/inclusion aide.  In 2020, I was hired as a Special Eduction Math Teacher

I am looking forward to what God has in store for Idalou Middle School and our students this year!  

Previous Position:

From August, 2013 – May, 2015, I taught 7th and 8th Grade Math, 8th Grade Pre-Algebra, and 6th Grade Math STAAR Prep at Ralls Middle School.

From August, 2015 – May, 2018, I taught 6th Grade Math and 5th Grade Math Intervention at Harmony Science Academy in Lubbock.

I returned to Idalou Middle School in 2018 as a Special Educaation paraprofessional/inclusion aide, until being hired as a Special Education Math Teacher in 2020.

Family Information:

I have been married to my cowboy sweetheart, Rusty Ray, for 40 years.  We had one adopted son, Jeremy Ray, who attended school at Idalou from 2001-2011.  He was killed in a single vehicle rollover on September 12, 2015.  At the time of his death, he had custody his two children, who now live in the custody of my husbnd and I.  Lsyne is a 4th grader, and Braelynn a 1st grader at Idalou Elementary.

I have three great-nephews and a great-niece who also attend school at Idalou – Keagan, Karter, and Kennedy Haralson, and Josh Williams.

Our family pets are three dogs named Stickers, Ranger, and Mollie, two horses named Harley and Huey, and eight hens.

Personal Information:

I enjoy spending time with my grandkids, playing games and sports, swimming, watching movies, riding horses, teaching them new things, and listening to Alan Jackson music.

I am a member of Lone Star Cowboy Church in Lubbock.

I attended Idalou Elementary and Junior High from 1st through 6th grade, and then attended school at Roosevelt Junior High and High School until graduating.
