Tulia HS 1992 Graduate

West Texas A&M University 1997 Graduate

Degrees and Certifications:

BS in Kinesiology

Current Position:

This is my first year at Idalou. I’m excited to be able to participate in the “Wildcat Way!” I’m going to be teaching Math Models. I will also be coaching football, basketball, and track.

Previous Position:

I started teaching and coaching at Farwell in 1997. I was there for 9 years teaching JH Science and HS Social Studies. After 4 years coaching JH boys, I became the Head Football, Head Powerlifting and Head Track coach.  After Farwell, I moved to Panhandle where I taught HS Social Studies for 9 years. I also coached Football, Basketball, and was the Head Boys Track coach. In 2015 we moved to West Texas High, where I also was a HS Social studies teacher and Football, Basketball, and Head Boys Track Coach.

For the previous five years, My family and I have been in Hale Center teaching and coaching. My assignment changed yearly based on other staff members, but I taught HS Social Studies, JH/HS Health, Speech and PE. I was also the offensive and defensive coordinator at different years for football, Head Boys Basketball Coach, and Head Boys and Girls Track Coach.

As a HS and College Student, my life was heavily impacted by the teachers, coaches and sponsors that I was associated with on a daily basis. I was involved in several different activities, clubs, and organizations. I participated in Football, Basketball, Track, band, Student Council, NHS, 4-H, church youth, and other volunteer activities. While in college, I was a football player and was involved my college church youth group. All these different activities showed me the importance of having people in students’ lives of integrity and impact.

Family Information:

I have been blessed to be married to my wife, Angela for 26 years. We got married and moved to Farwell for our first jobs in education the next week. We have enjoyed 4 schools over the years and have been blessed to teach and coach lots of great kids and meet great people from 4 different communities. We are blessed to have 2 children; Hunter, 19, a sophomore in college, and Chess, 15,  a freshman here in Idalou.

Personal Information:

I enjoy watching live sports and history on TV, when I am not working. I also enjoy spending time with my family at live games and events. We love going to Tech and LCU games and going to concerts at differnt times. I also enjoy spending time at my parents’ farm and ranch, being away from people in the peace and solitude.
